Ousyra 2021 Syros Serifiotiko

The name of the winery means happiness and reflects the happiness of it's couple, who met and fell in love on Syros. Edward left Scotland and stayed on the beautiful island which is the Capital of the Cyclades. His focus is on reviving it's extinct, indigenous varietals such as Serifiotiko. From ungrafted 80 year old bush vines farmed on terraces carved into the mountainside. A cousin of Assyrtiko in all manner, the wine shows great depth of flavors with intense aromas of dusty, stony  minerality and bright grapefruit and lemon. The palate is wonderfully smoky with citrus, pear and a vibrant acidity and sea spray salinity, Just begging for all manner of seafood, absolutely mouth-watering! Giselle Hamburg
