From Florentino Monje in Rioja, this is a throwback to the style of wine made in Rioja before the influence of Bordeaux on the traditions and winemaking in the area. Here, we have 95% Tempranillo with 5% Moscatel d'Alejandria in semi-carbonic maceration style, fermented in stainless steel and additional maceration in clay amphora after foot stomping. This wine was originally made exclusively for the famous natural wine bar in Barcelona, Bar Brutal, and is now available for your drinking pleasure in New York! Zero sulfites added, but you would never know (it's very clean and refreshing, not funky in any way)!
