Champs de l'Abbaye 2022 Cote Chalonnaise Blanc "Les Amourettes"

The Champs de l'Abbaye "Les Amourettes" is a lovely Chardonnay from limestone terroir in Aluze, next to Mercurey. Notes of ripe yellow apple and pear waft from the glass with juicy tropical fruit and lemon confit on the round palate. Medium to full bodied despite it's lithe 12.5% abv, it would lend itself to fuller white meat, fish dishes and cream sauces such as blanquette de veau, monkfish a l'oseille and roasted pork belly. -GH
