Bajta Belo is a perfectly balanced skin contact wine from the Kobal winery in the Štajerska region of Slovenia, in the northeast, part of Lower Styria on the border with Austria. The blend is of Pinot Gris, locally known as Sivi Pinot, Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Traminer. Maceration with skins is for 2 months, followed by 2 years of aging in neutral barrels. Fresh and balanced, with subtle aromatics, and good acidity, this is a great introduction to skin contact wines with very delicate gand integrated tannins. -EL
