Joaquin 2015 Della Societa Taurasi Riserva (Arrives 8/18)

This Riserva is only bottled in the best vintages, sourced from 150-200 year old, giant, gnarled, own rootstock vines. This unique parcel is located in the commune of Paternopoli, in the Taurasi appellation’s southernmost and coolest subzone. Aglianico is an age-defying grape, and Joaquin's example here holds this character of Aglianico while balancing a freshness not found in other examples. It's aged at least 3 years in old oak and acacia casks, with significant bottle aging to follow. Incredibly earthy, forest floor, cool herbs, and wild blueberry.
