Domaine Ciringa 2022 Fosilini Breg Sauvignon Blanc
Owned by the Tement family, Domaine Ciringa is their vineyards from the Slovenian side of the border which crosses through several of them. Ciringa is the Slovenian name for Ziregg, their most famous vineyard where the border cuts it in half! The vineyards share the same coral in limestone soil as across the Austrian border, hence the label with the giant fossilised seashell. All Ciringa wines are organic/biodynamic despite the abundant rains as in South Styria. Spontaneous fermentation, 18-20 months elevage in large, used Corinthian (Austria) oak barrels and stainless steel. The wine bursts with super bright acidity, with notes of chalky minerality and white grapefruit, offering any Sancerre a run for the money! GH
