Amorotti 2022 Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo

While Amorotti's first official vintage was 2016, they have been a winemaking family for over a century. They still sell grapes in bulk, but they save the best selections for their own label. The vines are certified organic and wine is spontaneously fermented.

The Cerasuolo is an exquisite rendering of the this traditional Abruzzese style of rose. The first note the pops from the wine is the toasty reduction that feels well integrated and more of a sesame hint rather than sulfuric. Underneath that shines a bright energy, acidity, woodsy herbs, strawberry, and violet. A magical and unique wine to pair with local cheeses and braised meats.
