Boulay, Gerard 2022 Sancerre Rose Sibylle

From 35-40 year old Pinot Noir vines on the steep hillsides in front of the Boulay home in Chavignol. Unlike many Sancerre Roses, Gerard harvests his Pinot specifically to make rose by direct press, then into tank. It is not a selection of young vines as he has no young Pinot vines The 2022 Sancerre Rose Sibylle reveals aromas of spring flowers, ripe red berries, lemon, rose petals and spices with menthol hints. Perfectly balanced, textured, juicy and fresh, it’s nicely tense with a long, mouthwatering finish. Recommended. Drink 2023-2025. (Coutesy of Polaner Selections)
