Natural Wines from Julien Guillot at the Clos des Vignes du Maynes, 2018 - 2021!

[Dégusté à la veugle or Sors ton Anecdote!]

With vineyards dating back to 910 AD that have been farmed organically since the 1950s, and three generations of experience vinifying without additives, Julien Guillot is producing some of the most unique and delicious natural wines of France!

Included in today's email are the principal bottlings from the Clos des Vignes du Maynes as well as wines made at the Clos with organic grapes from the Mâcon and Beaujolais that are harvested and vinified by Julien. All the red wines were vinified and bottled with zero additives, the whites sometimes receive a small dose of SO2 (10 - 30 mg/l) before bottling.

New This Year! Megamix Volume 2 - Julien's new glou made with a refreshing blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Muscat, with no added SO2, serve cool and enjoy the electro-funk...!

A few cases of the estates finest whites are happily included in this shipment:

2018 "Cuvée Léandre" - Pouilly Fuissé with 48 months of elevage, no added SO2, profound and delicious wine!

2020 "Les Chassagnes" (Magnums) This is a superb, subtle and very mineral Chardonnay from a replanted parcel at the very top of the Clos, abandoned since 1896.

2021 "Aragonite" From 40 to 90 year-old vines high on the slope in Cruzille on shallow soils of clay over crystallized limestone, rich in minerals.  The 2020 is an elegant Burgundy showing hints of dried pear, lemon verbena, honeysuckle and stone that broaden with time open but remain subtle and fresh. The palate is lean and dense with flavors of wet stone and minerals framing citrus peel and ripe pear. The finish is long and crystalline...

Don't worry, the 2022 "Cuveé 910" will arrive in August....
