Amazing deal on 2022 Domaine de Chassorney Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret

8/19/25 -

I probably sound like a broken record when it comes to finding value of any kind in Burgundy but today's offer might be just one of the best to date! We were able to get some incredible pricing on the 2022 Domaine de Chassorney Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret and we got as much as we could so we could offer the wine with DEEP discounts! In current times it is quite challenging to find village level Volnay from a lot of producers for this price, let alone Premier Crus. But today and tomorrow we are offering the Domaine de Chassorney Volnay 1er Cru Ronceret at $74.99 with 10% off 3+ bottles and 20% off 6+ bottles, that brings it down to $59.99! This is all while supplies last so get them while you can!

Domaine de Chassorney was established in 1996 by Frédéric Cossard with a mix of leased and owned holdings near Saint-Romain. As he began to approach retirement, Fred formed a close relationship with local winemaker and friend Aurélien Verdet with the idea that they would work side by side for a few years before Aurélien took over the domaine. So, in 2019 the duo began the transition and 2022 marked the year when Aurélien assumed full control. While he is continuing with an undying commitment to organic viticulture and hands-off winemaking the wines appear to have a bit more energy and structure to them than in past vintages.

The vineyard of Ronceret is a mere 3 hectares on the eastern border of 1er Cru Champans.  Aurélien's plot contains 40 year old vines on clay-limestone soils. It is vinified using 100% whole bunches and fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel before being aged for 12 months in used oak barrels with an additional month and half in stainless steel before bottling. Just 1,560 bottles were made! The resulting wine has a beautiful aroma of ripe red berry notes like raspberry, wild strawberry and cherry. There is excellent concentration of fruit and the wine contains an elegant note of spice. There are really balanced tannins with great freshness. Having tasted this wine a few weeks ago it is approachable now but will clearly continue to evolve with extended time in the bottle.
