Texier, Eric 2022 Vin de France Chat Fou

The Texier 2022  "Chat Fou" is normally 50% Grenache/30% Cinsault/20% Clairette. Mainly from Texier’s warmer, granitic St Julien vineyard. "It wasn’t easy to make a wine that was easy drinking and not too rich in 2022. We decided to add more Cinsault and harvest the Clairette a little earlier. We let the white grapes macerate a bit on their own a few days before adding them to the Cinsaults. The Grenaches were vinified later and apart; in the end we only kept the free-run juice as the skins were thick and tannic." The 2022 Chat Fou is refreshing, "digeste" and thirst-quenching, showing lovely aromas of tart cherry and raspberry with hints of licorice, violet and citrus. The palate is supple and refreshing with  plum, cherry and berry fruit, light but sapid and dense with a long, juicy finish. Serve quite cool and be happy!
