Dard & Ribo 2023 Crozes-Hermitage Rouge
(2004 label courtesy of Louis/Dressner) From 4-5 sources, esp from Les Pins (gore soils, 1999, 2000 Syrah), Chavanessieux (grey granite, feldspar) at Crozes-Hermitage, Pé de Loup, Les Bâties at Larnage(red kaolin), whole bunch fermentation, pumping overs, aged used 600-litre oak casks 11-15 months, unfined, unfiltered. " The 2023 shows "a fine red robe; wild berries, fraises du bois perky air on the nose, discreetly sweet and floral. The nose is inviting, as is the palate also, which skates along on fine red fruits, cherries, with a little fibre in the tannins, a vintage signature there. This is fun, w.o.w. Crozes rouge that has a good swing in its step, is fresh and salted late on, a rock n’roll wine with lots of grapey essence in it."
