Clos des Papes 2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc
The extraordinary Clos des Papes CDP Blanc is from 3 hectares on clay-sandy, galet stone covered soils mainly on La Croze, of Grenache blanc (richness), Roussanne (gras), Clairette (elegance), Bourboulenc (acidity), Picpoul (acidity), Picardin (elegance). The beautiful 2007 shows a "steady yellow robe. Has an open, waxen, honey with fennel or aniseed, peach and flowers aroma – I think that qualifies for “abundant variety” - and Poire William floats in the air, too. It has dried fruits, vanilla flavours, with honey and hazelnut or almond. A good, rocking wine with energy and ripeness. The aftertaste is spiced. Drink until 2029-32" drinkrhone
