Wasenhaus 2023 Baden Spätburgunder Vulkan - Limit 2 per customer

This is Wasenhaus’ Pinot Noir from the Kaiserstuhl region, grown on volcanic soils – thus the reference to “Vulkan.” It is sourced from a few parcels: One vineyard is quite high in elevation in the town of Eichstetten and one vineyard in Jechtingen, for those scholars of the Kaiser’s chair. Due to the young age of the vines, it was fermented nearly entirely destemmed (40% whole cluster) in an open-top fermenter for 18 days. The élevage is for about 15 months in mainly used barrels.
