This is a perfect late-summer early autumn rosé, made of 100% Grenache from Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard in Cuyama Valley, about 33 miles east of Santa Barbara in the Sierra Madre Mountains. At 3,200ft it is the highest elevation Grenache in California. Grapes undergo a long, slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks before spending 8 weeks sur lie in stainless steel tanks. A pale salmon pink in the glass, it has surprising depth and beautiful texture that make it food friendly and almost cozy for a rosé. There's a nervy saline minerality that holds everything together, with hints of tropical citrus fruit and bergamot tea adding lift. Clean and precise, it's a perfect rosé for year-round drinking.
