Bonnefond 2021 Cote-Rotie "Les Rochins"
Patrick and Christophe Bonnefond make very pure, concentrated wines (both Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie) with the top cuvées, Rochins and Côte Rozier, both adjoining La Landonne on either side, built for long aging, but enjoyable young. "Les Rochins" is a 2 hectare parcel of 40 to 70 year-old vines on soils of schist and mica-schist, facing south. Wild-yeast fermentations, approximately 50% whole-cluster. "quite a full red colour; the nose has a mossy air, interest, mystery, scope. Licorice and cassis fruit align on the palate, holds a sweet noted gras, nothing excessive, touches of gourmand within. There is an iodine cool tone tight on the close. This will become pliant, relaxed, with time." Drink Rhone. Enjoy until 2045...
