A Tribute to Grace 2022 Grenache Hofer Vineyard

This comes from the Hofer Ranch, a unique site in the Cucamonga Valley in San Bernardino County, just over 40 miles east of Los Angeles. Planted in the early 1900s to a combination of wine grapes, apricot and peach orchards and raisins, it was converted to primarily vineyards by 1930 and remains on its original root stocks. The sandy soils are perfectly suited to Grenache, imparting an energy and purity to the wines while maintaining the grape's character. For this wine the grapes were de-stemmed and see a nine day fermentation before aging 11 months in neutral barrique and puncheon. It's a light and exuberant wine, with bright punchy fruit and layers of spice, dried leaves and earth. It can be enjoyed with a slight chill but has all the depth and complexity of any of Angela's other bottlings. Another stellar wine!
