Fatalone is situated in the Gioia del Colle region of Puglia, a bit more inland and higher elevation. This wine is quite uniquely made from 'racemi' fruit, or the second budding fruit of the Primitivo vine. Racemi is thinner skinned with smaller bunches. When pressed with the skins for 36 hours, we get a beautiful deep rosato / light red wine bursting with ripe raspberry, blackberry, violets, prickly acid, and a kiss of tannins.
