Monterosso 2021 Terre Siciliane Etna Volcano Bianco

From organically sourced grapes, this white is 100% Carricante from the lower elevations at Mount Etna's base. The nose is subtle and pretty, with hints of cured lemon, green herbs, and wisps of white flowers. On the palate, it's light to medium, with almond skin, fennel notes and mineral depth. Tried recently (May of 2025), the 2021 is drinking wonderfully, with perfect acidity, begging for food, from salads with feta, olives and tomatoes, to grilled fish or poultry. It also has enough weight and length to pair with a fava bean puree or grilled eggplant. Though it clearly has the potential to age, we'd recommend drinking now, as there is an unmistakable harmony of volcanic minerality, fruit, and acid.
