Bouland, Daniel 2018 Morgon "Delys" VV 1926
Daniel Bouland's Morgon "Delys Vieilles Vignes 1926" is from a 45 ares parcel in the hamlet of Corcelette, in Morgon. "The 2018 is very pure and sappy and shows no signs of sur maturité on either the nose or palate, with the bouquet jumping from the glass in a lovely blend of sweet dark berries, black cherries, roasted gamebird, espresso, dark soil tones, just a hint of fresh thyme and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely plush on the attack, with a rock solid core of fruit, good soil signature, ripe, firm tannins and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish." (View From the Cellar) Although the 2018 is more forward than the 2019, we would still suggest opening well in advance - and grab a few extra bottles for the cellar...
