Ousyra 2023 Naxos Fokiano Rose

The name of the winery means happiness and reflects the happiness of it's couple, who met and fell in love on Syros. Edward left Scotland and stayed on the beautiful island which is the Capital of the Cyclades. His focus is on reviving it's extinct, indigenous varietals such as Fokiano. Hailing from the neighboring island of Naxos from ungrafted 80 year old bush vines farmed on terraces carved into the mountainside.  The rose skews very savory and provencal like with intense aromas of dusty, minerality, ruby red grapefruit, melon and garrigue. The palate is wonderfully smoky with a vibrant acidity and sea spray salinity, Just begging for all manner of seafood, absolutely mouth-watering! -Giselle Hamburg
