Lafouge, Jean et Gilles 2022 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru "Les Duresses"
"Les Duresses," according to Jasper Morris, is the best placed vineyard in Auxey-Duresses, on a steep south-east facing slope that continues into Monthelie. This wine is always well-structured, a bit less forward than Lafouge's La Chapelle and it ages beautifully. "there is a vaguely liqueur-like quality to the aromas of dark raspberry, plum, anise and soft earth influences. There is an equally appealing mouthfeel to the vibrant and lightly stony flavors that aren't quite as dense [as "la Chapelle] yet the impressively long finish is compact, powerful and youthfully austere. This should also repay extended keeping but be approachable after 5-ish or so years. This too is excellent." Burghound # 94
