Ceritas 2023 Pinot Noir Hellenthal Vyd 'Old Shop Block'

This comes from a special planting of old, own-rooted vines known as the "Old Shop Block" in Hellenthal Vineyard, located at 1300ft elevation just east of Hirsch Vineyards. Ceritas is the only winery using fruit from this plot, which consists of a mix of fractured and decomposed sandstone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented with 60% whole clusters and aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for one year, before being consolidated to used barrels for another 3-6 months. Ceritas has always managed to produce wines that are approachable on release but can age gracefully for years, so don't hesitate to drink now but if you're able to tuck some away it will certainly reward the patience.
