Jobard, Claudie 2022 Pommard 1er Cru "Les Charmots"

The outstanding Pommard 1er Cru vineyard "Les Charmots" faces south on the hill above the village, above "Grands Epenots." The vines are now 104 years old and are worked by hand and by horse, now certified organic. We thank Claudie for sharing a few bottles with us from her tiny production. The color is a light garnet/red, with aromas that are delicate and fine with rose, raspberry, red currant and cherry. On the palate the wine shows fabulous density but remains light and delicate with very fine chalky tannins, almost weightless. The finish is elegant, sapid and very long. This is for the cellar, but hard to resist drinking it now... "Serve with game, braised or roasted, or a piece of beef, and with cheeses with developed flavors: Époisses, Langres, Soumaintrain but also Comté."
