Elian Da Ros 2021 Côtes du Marmandais Abouriou

Majority Abouriou with a small percentage of Merlot, assembled from numerous parcels of clay/gravel and clay/limestone terroir. Not de-stemmed, semi-carbonic maceration for 12 days. Aged for 15 months in used foudres and large barrels. "I chose semi-carbonic maceration as a means of expression, but without losing the terroir and the special characteristics of the grape. Arbouriou is a fruity wine with touches of spice, all enveloped in a soft and supple tannic frame. It's a wine of the Southwest vinified...differently." The 2021 was delightful, a perfect medium-bodied expression that would pair perfectly with lighter fare or grilled meats and veggies.
