Jobard, Claudie 2022 Pommard "Vieilles Vignes"

The Jobard Pommard "Vieilles Vignes" is from old vines in three parcels -  En Boeuf, La Combotte and Vaumuriens, and shows the density and structure typical of the 2022 vintage in Pommard. It's a transluscent deep ruby in the glass with bright cherry and strawberry fruit on the nose. The palate has some savory herbs and more punchy red fruit, with firm tannins that soften up as it's open. After an hour or so there's a more harmonious balance with brilliant dark cherry, spices and nice tension. Delicious now served at cellar temp with grilled meats, or cellar for another 5-10 years or longer. JD
