This is a fascinating style of Jura wine known as Corail, which is all but extinct nowadays. It's a blend of all the Jura varietals, including about 60% Pinot Noir and 40% a combination of Trousseau, Poulsard, Savagnin and Chardonnay. These are all macerated and co-fermented together, the result being a light red with high energy and layers of baking spice, mushroom, forest floor and bright berry fruit. It's light but surprisingly structured, slightly tart and savory on the palate. This is one of the only producers still making a wine in this style, though 100 years ago nearly all wines from Jura were co-fermented with red and white grapes. A beautiful wine that's also a little piece of history - serve slightly chilled on its own or with seafood, lighter chicken or vegetable dishes.
