Raventos, Pepe 2022 Malvasia de Sitges 'Vinya la Plana'

Malvasia de Sitges, recuperated from one single remaining vineyard in Sitges that was the last parcel in the 1970s, nearly extinct until the painstaking work of Ramon Parera from Celler Pardas. Pepe got some clippings from Ramon in 2018 to plant Malvasia de Sitges on a small 1.5 hectare site with clay and limestone soils at his family's estate, and this is the limited production wine (1500 bottles produced) that tells the story. Fermentation was in cement, followed by 8 months aging on the lees and 9 months in bottle before release. There is a delicate texture to the mouthfeel, and lovely notes of Mediterranean herbs and bright lemons.
