Descombes, Georges 2022 Morgon

Georges Descombes is one of the premiere vignerons in Beaujolais. His farming is organic and his winemaking is very traditional; using native yeasts, semi-carbonic maceration, and very little sulfur added at bottling. The 2022 Morgon showed beautifully, tasted last winter, a bit fuller and deeper than the Regnié and Brouilly, as usuaul, showing ripe aromas of raspberry and strawberry with elegant strawbery liqueur, earth and minerals on the palate with terrific length. The 2022s have beautiful ripeness but a bit less alcohol than 2018 - 2020, a very good vintage for Beaujolais. This is a gorgeous wine that should be served slightly chilled with just about anything - enjoy over the next three to five years. (Drinking beautifully after 4 days in the fridge...)
