Paris On Chambers Street - Racines NY Has Arrived!
4/22/14 -
Finally, after two years of location search and seven months of building, Racines NY has opened at 94 Chambers Street, just east of Church! A neo-bistrot and wine/bar in the Parisian fashion, Racines NY offers a full menu, dozens of wines by the glass, thousands of bottles in the cellar and a lively, informal ambiance. A partnership of David Lanher (Racines, Paris), Arnaud Tronche (Sommelier Extraordinaire) and David Lillie (Chambers Street Wines), Racines NY hopes to become one of the most congenial places for great cuisine and great wine in New York.
Executive Chef Frederic Duca comes to Racines NY from Marseille, via Paris, where he was recently awarded a Michelin star at L'Instant D'Or. His team is producing superb, beautifully-presented French cuisine that is complemented by the extensive list of organic, biodynamic and natural wines, many of which are sourced from the same estates and importers featured at Chambers Street. A traditional three or four-course menu is offered in the 40 seat dining section, with a menu of small plates, fine charcuterie and cheeses available at the bar and winebar area. The atmosphere is casual, with Mr. Tronche and staff available to help with wine selections and our effective sound-proofing encourages conversation. The by-the-glass list (5 ounce pours) will feature CSW favorites, including many rare, hard-to-find selections, and a number of wines without added sulfites will be available. (And yes, there's a full bar and a small selection of craft beers, currently featuring the great "Florence" from our friend Shaun Hill.) We're very excited to have a great restaurant and winebar nearby, to raise a glass after work or for a special wine-centric dinner with friends and family. We hope you'll visit Racines NY soon, but be sure to reserve (212-227-3400) as the dining room has been fully booked each night!
