Vignes du Maynes 2019 Bourgogne Blanc "Pearl and Button"
The Vignes du Maynes 2019 "Pearl & Button" is a superb skin contact "orange" wine - Chardonnay from 40 year-old vines grown on clay/limestone soils, certified organic. Therre was a 10 day maceration on the skins, wild yeast fermentation, and 3 years of aging sur lies in large foudres. Pearl & Button remains very Burgundian with buttery Chardonnay aromas of white fruits, spice and citrus. The palate shows light skin tannins and elegant fruit with mineral, spice and citrus flavors that will pair nicely with white meats, full-flavored fish preparations or ceviches. // About the label: "Konstantina is a contemporary Aboriginal artist from Australia, a Gadigal woman from the Eora nation. She modernizes the pictorial traditions of a centuries-old culture. What better way to illustrate this Chardonnay maceration cuvée, vinified with four hands by Pearl, a Canadian descendant of the Cree Indians, and our winemaker friend Jasper, from the Commune of Buttons estate in Australia. The connections that First Nations people have with nature inspire us and push us to explore the frontiers of the invisible."
