Finca Suarez 2022 Malbec Paraje Altamira

The Finca Suarez approach to Malbec is to let the grape and the terroir do the talking. From their Finca Las Piedras vineyard, which has a high concentration calcium carbonate over poor, rocky soil, the wine has natural mineral structure that blends harmoniously with the tannic structure. Aging is in concrete, which helps to keep the edges soft and obviously does not impart any oak flavors, so the purity of the fruit is paramount. Full-bodied, generous and dark-fruited, this is a very classic expression of Malbec that will pair perfectly with grilled meats or vegetarian options like portabello mushrooms, or hearty faro or rice-based dishes.  -EL
