Maloof 2022 No Clos Radio Gewurztraminer

This is 100% Gewurztraminer from the Maloofs' own No Clos Radio Vineyard within the recently designated Tualatin Hills AVA in northwest Willamette Valley. The vineyard dates back to the 1970s and is own-rooted, dry farmed and worked organically, comprised of jory and loess soils with iron manganese deposits unique to the AVA. The fruit is destemmed before fermenting on the skins until dry (about 16 days) and aged in 500L neutral oak puncheons. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it's a hazy gold/amber in the glass with springtime aromatics of fresh flowers along with some peach and apricot fruit. It's not overly perfumy, striking a perfect balance between floral aromatics mingling with a savory edge and a long mineral finish.
