The lovely "second wine" of Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal in Pauillac is particularly delicious in 2019. The blend is 50% Cabernet and 50% Merlot with aging both in used oak and in concrete eggs. "...a joyous, vibrant bouquet of blackberry and cedar with fragrant touches of iris petal" says Neal Martin in Vinous. A delightful Bordeaux for current drinking or further aging of 5 to 10 years.
