Leipold in Obervolkach is a Franken estate now run by the young son Peter who, with 2 years working under Klaus Peter Keller before a stint for Liger-Belair in Burgundy, is part of a wave of young guns making organic and soulful wines there. The estate Sylvaner is super zesty and herbaceous with brilliant acidity, a faint prickle and more of that cool minerality native to the area.
