Leipold in Obervolkach is a Franken estate now run by the young son Peter who, with 2 years working under Klaus Peter Keller before a stint for Liger-Belair in Burgundy, is part of a wave of young guns making organic and soulful wines there. The region best know for it's Sylvaners is also home to some high altitude Pinot Noirs that showcase more of that earthy,cool minerality native to the area.
