Domaine du Bagnol 2018 Cassis Rouge Cuvée Marquis de Fesques

A blend of 80% Mourvedre and 20% Grenache from the estate's oldest vines, it ages for well over a year in used demi-muids. Unlike it's neighbor Bandol, the red is light on it's feet and lively with an abv of only 13%. Redolent of dark and red berries, smoke and herbs, it's high acid profile is more akin to an Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo or Greek Xinomavro from Macedonia. Pair with all manner of grilled fowl, pork, lamb and full fleshed fish such as tuna and monkfish along with some ratatouille and panisse (chickpea fries).  GH
