We Remember

9/11/11 -

There were only two of us at 160 Chambers that morning at 9 am. It was such a beautiful day that we moved the cash drawer over to the tall windows facing south to count the receipts. We heard the unusual sound of the first plane and looked up. Later, we were on the corner at West Broadway when the first building came down. We remember our helpless feelings as the firemen rushed past us, responding, without hesitation, to this incomprehensible event. Our hearts go out to those, including many of our neighbors, who lost friends and family on that horrible day, and we hope that yesterday's ceremonies can help with their process of grief.
