Profound Terroirs of Mosel Riesling
3/1/10 -
(Pundericher Marienburg farmed by Clemens Busch)
Everyone is familiar with the majestic wines that come from Scharzhofberg, Piesporter Goldtropfchen, and Wehlener Sonnenuhr. But for adventurous terroir-lovers the Mosel Valley can be an infinite goldmine for diverse Rieslings from outlier vineyards and lesser-known sites – and we love Mosel Wine Merchant for helping us explore them!
This concise portfolio manages to capture the versatility of Mosel Riesling by highlighting family estates with unique stories, which farm distinct areas of the valley with great care and love in order to give voice to the particular soils, slopes and micro-climates of their vines. Places like Marienburg, Hamm, St Aldegunder Himmelreich, and Ayler Kupp are rightfully turning heads amongst Riesling lovers and collectors.
We are very excited to be showcasing ten wines from five estates this Saturday with Dan Melia (Happy Birthday Dan!) of Mosel Wine Merchant. This will be a great educational opportunity to taste the wines and converse with the importer about these families and the unique parcels of land they farm. If you are a Riesling lover, or are interested in true terroir expression – you must experience for yourself the beauty and amazing variation of these Mosel Rieslings.
