On our recent visit to Nantes, we had a wonderful tasting with Jo Landron at the Domaine Louvetrie, and were lucky enough to obtain a small quantity of older wines from this great estate. Also arriving, and rarely available in the US, is the sensational Hermine D'Or bottling from 2007. Jo's work in the vineyard is outstanding - he has been organic since 1996, learning from his neighbor Guy Bossard - the soils are alive and the wines are vibrant and pure. This is top-flight winemaking at affordable prices from unique terroirs that give long-lasting wines of great complexity. The 2000 and 1996 Fief du Breil are drinking beautifully and will accompany any full-flavored seafood preparation - we urge you to try them!
