German Update
7/28/2008 -
(Bockenau - where Tim Frohlich lives and makes wine)
Lots of exciting stuff in German land. I am leaving for Germany on Sunday to visit a number of estates in the Mosel and Nahe including Haag, Donnhoff, Schaefer, Knebel and Prum and to say the least I am very excited. When I get back those lovely Rudi Wiest imported German wines will undergo a price hike as the pre-sell will be over. I already bumped the JJ Prum prices up but are still excellent values if you look at the whole picture for world class white wines that sell. The '94 Steinmetz is here and is a stellar value for $19.99 a bottle and I urge you to load up on this as this was bought before the Euro went haywire vis-à-vis the dollar. It has quickly become a staff favorite. Check back every week as I will continue to be putting 2006's on sale and the Wirsching pre-arrival is in full effect but when those land the prices will also be jacked up so buy now or forever hold your piece. Also look below for the extremely rare 2007 Schafer-Frohlich GG's of which there is a strict 3 bottle limit on each one. I am also carefully tasting through the wines of the Mosel Wine Merchant 2007's (Stein, Steinmetz, Clemens Busch and Knebel) and an offer will be out after I get back from Germany. So happy hunting!
