The lieu-dit "Les Mombies" has limestone clay soils washed down from higher on the slope, the vines average 40 years of age. The 2018 Les Mombies shows lovely freshness in this very ripe vintage with aromas of strawberry and cherry liqueur with hints of darker fruit and game. The fresh, chalky palate offers a melange of red fruits - raspberry, red currant, cherry - with good concentration over an earthy mineral core with fine fresh acidity and nice lift on the finish. This will be fun drinking as a young wine due to the fresh, vibrrant fruit and ought to shine with 3-5 years in the cellar and beyond. David Lillie
