This is usually our favorite wine from François and Manuela Chidaine, long-time champions of organic and biodynamic farming in the Loire Valley. Named after the soil type "Les Bournais," a unique clay topsoil over limestone (tuffeau blanche) also found across the river in Vouvray. "A harvest of superb quality...a vintage we dream of having more frequently," say the Chidaines about 2015, and indeed the wines are superb, possessing beautiful fruit and perfect balance. The 2015 "Les Bournais" has 2 grams of RS and sensational aromas of white fruits and citrus with floral notes and even some hints of raspberry. The palate is full and elegant, though dry, quite dense and long. Delicious now this wine will age beautifully - ten to twenty yrears in the cellar should reveal something very interesting.
