Marc Houtin founded La Grange aux Belles near Anjou in 2004, having studied geology and worked at Château d’Yquem making Sauternes. He recruited viticulturist Julien Bresteau in 2006 and their first vintage was released in 2008. There is no filtering, fining, or sulphur added, but they are devoid of any sediment. What you do have is a beautifully expressive Chenin, mouthwatering, tangy apples and great minerality. Perfect with fish or poultry, or even an ashen goat cheese. Christine Manula
