Adam, A.J. 2012 Mosel Riesling Dhroner Hofberg Kabinett
The best Adam Kabinett in years. This one's light as a feather and drier than previous vintages (it's still well into Kabinett territory, though, this is by no means a Feinherb). High-toned aromas with spicy herbs, cinnamon and light citrus notes mingle on the nose with great balance and cool, dark minerals on the finish. Fermented entirely in wood, so no stinky, reductive aromas are too be found. -jfr
Muthenthaler, Martin 2017 Wachau Gruner Veltliner Spitzer Graben
Martin Muthenthaler has been experimenting with selection and vine age with his Gruner Veltliners, and over time has developed a preference for blending fruit from younger and older vines. In this case, the Spitzer-Graben is a blend from 30 year old and 10 year old vines, selected from his parcels in the Bruck, Schön & Viessling vineyards. A subtle yet impressive entry-level Gruner from this up and coming Wachau estate. Mint and herbs on the palate, with medium weight and delicate, stony finish. -EL
Envinate 2018 Almansa Garnacha Tintorera Albahra
Albahra is Envinate's Mediterranean wine, from vines of Garnacha Tintorera and Moravia-Agria planted in clay-limestone soils near Albacete in Castilla-La Mancha. The Garnacha Tintorera and the Moravia-Agria are vinified separately: the Garnacha with some stems in cement vats, and the Moravia fully destemmed in used barrels. After about 8 months they are blended together and bottled without fining or filtering and with only a small amount of SO2 added. The 2018 is exuberant and alive right from the bottle, far more so than previous vintages, and shows more elegance and sophistication than past bottlings, in my view. The nose shows black and white pepper, ripe red plum, black cherry, and floral notes, while the palate is medium-bodied with a strong seam of limestone minerality and notes of red fruit, black pepper, and game. An outstanding wine to open now that will complement summer barbecues and grilled vegetables or meats, or a great candidate for near-term cellaring. Ben Fletcher
Envinate 2018 Tenerife Benje Tinto
Limit 1 per customer. Listán Prieto from vineyards at around 1000-1200m near Santiago del Teide on Tenerife. This vineyard has sandy volcanic soils, and the vines are 70-100 years old. Climactically, this region is dry, windy, and continental in character, shielded from Atlantic influence by Mount Teide and elevation. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts with a maceration period of 10-20 days and punch-downs daily before aging for eight months in concrete and used French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with a touch of sulfur. Ben Fletcher
Envinate 2018 Tenerife Taganan Tinto
A field blend of many grapes, mostly red: Listán Negro, Listán Gaucho, Malvasia Nera, Negramoll, Baboso, and many others. The vineyard is on the northeast coast of Tenerife, planted from the water up to 300m above sea level. These ancient vines (70-300 years old) are planted on very steeply terraced, sandy, basaltic soils. All grapes are hand harvested, then undergo fermentation by indigenous yeasts with some whole clusters in open-top vats and concrete. The wine is aged in neutral oak for eight months before bottling without fining or filtering, and with only a touch of sulfur. Ben Fletcher
Envinate 2019 Tenerife Benje Blanco
Listán Blanco from high elevation (1000-1200m) vineyards on the sunny, dry and continental wester side of Mount Teide, near the town of Santiago del Teide. The vineyard was planted 70-100 years ago, and the soils are sandy and volcanic. All grapes are harvested by hand and a small subset macerate on the skins for about seven days. The grapes are fermented with native yeasts in concrete and used French oak, some of the wine ages under flor for several months. 2019 was a dry and difficult vintage for white wines across the island of Tenerife - this year's Benje Blanco will probably need some time in bottle to really show its stuff. This year's Benje Tinto is open and ready to go - a great expression of the spice, minerality and intensity of Tenerife's volcanic soils paired with the delicacy and freshness of Listan Prieto. Raúl Pérez 2018 Bierzo Ultreia de Valtuille
Raul Perez has become one of the best known and most celebrated oenologist-winemakers in Galicia and Bierzo. His Ultreia wines are beautiful expressions of the terroir and indigenous varieties of Bierzo. Mostly Mencía with Bastardo (Trousseau), Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet), Godello and Doña Blanca. This is a classic wine of Bierzo, with vibrant violet floral notes on the nose and chalky minerality, medium body and delicate tannins.
Terroir Al Límit 2011 Priorat Torroja Vi de la Vila
Dominik Huber of Terroir al Límit uncovers an unheralded side of Priorat in his inspired "village" red, the Torroja Vi de Vila. The Garnatxa and Carignan for this cuvée come from lower, flatter, and cooler vineyards than the precipitously steep, sun-baked, slate slopes that make Priorat famous (and famously difficult to farm, hence expensive). Fermented whole-cluster and aged in used 500L barrels and large foudres, the result is a bright, balanced, and food-friendly wine that has abundant red and purple berry fruit and exquisite floral and mineral layers to thrill devotees of the region (with refreshing acidity and moderate alcohol—13.5%—to subdue its detractors). An enlightened pairing with rabbit confit, roasted root vegetables, or the last tomatoes of the season. Ariana Rolich

Turley 2017 Napa Hayne Zinfandel
This Turley bottling of Zinfandel comes from one of their most prized sites, the Hayne Vineyard. Located on the west side of St. Helena Mountain, the vines, planted in 1902 are dry-farmed and headtrained to allow the vines to struggle just enough to create exceptional grapes.
Turley 2018 Napa Hayne Petit Syrah
The Hayne vineyard is home to some of the oldest vines in Napa Valley, with the Petite Syrah vines planted in 1953. These vines are entirely head-trained, dry farmed, and farmed organically. This wine is bold and powerful in its youth, but ages beautifully and develops a more elegant, softer side as it evolves.
