Ceritas 2018 Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Santa Cruz Chardonnay
The Peter Martin Ray Vineyard in Santa Cruz sits way up at 1800ft elevation. This history of this vineyard dates back to the 1940's, but the Chardonnay vines were replanted in the early 1980s. The fruit from here is highly sought after because of the uncompromising farming of Peter Ray, and the unique saltiness and minerality that is imparted to the grapes.
Corison, Cathy 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Cathy Corison's wines eschew the bold, heavy-handed flavors and dollops of massive French oak embraced by her Napa Valley counterparts, instead focusing on teasing deeply concentrated, ripened fruit from the deep, stony alluvial soils of her vineyards in Rutherford and St. Helena. With dark fruit and violet notes, this Cabernet is nothing short of impressive with allusive black cherry and black tea flavors, and meaty undertones. A quintessential example of power intersecting with elegance.

Ponzi 2011 Willamette Pinot Noir Aurora
The Ponzi vineyards are located in the Chehalem Mountains of the Willamette Valley in one of the newest sub-AVA's of Laurelwood District. The Ponzi family has owned and maintained this property since the late 1960's and is currently run by Ana Maria Ponzi with Luisa Ponzi as their winemaker. Together they petitioned to designate the Laurelwood District as its own AVA because of its unique Laurelwood soil; composed of basalt base with ice age windblown sedimentary soils.
St Innocent 2012 Willamette Valley Momtazi Pinot Noir
St. Innocent winemaker Mark Vlassak recounts, "In 2006 I approached Moe Momtazi and asked if St. Innocent could contract for Pinot Noir fruit from his bio-dynamically farmed vineyard. From my first trip to France in 1998, I observed that the greatest domaines in both Burgundy and Alsace had one thing in common, they farmed bio-dynamically." Momtazi Vineyard is certified biodynamic by Demeter and the source for some of Willamette Valley's most sought-after Pinot Noir grapes. St. Innocent's allocation comes from the 4 highest blocks of the vineyard, planted in 1999 and 2004 on thin, poor soils, facing south and southwest. The grapes are destemmed and fermented with no SO2 before spending 16 months in French oak barrels (27% new). Aromas of meaty black cherry and moss, with a hearty, dark-fruited palate inflected with licorice, cola, rhubarb, and lots of earth meld marvelously with meat and mushrooms. Some time in the decanter (or overnight on the coffee table) reveals spicy floral garrigue, silky kirsch, and funky blue fruit. Ariana Rolich
St Innocent 2013 Eola-Amity Willamette Temperance Hill Pinot Noir
Temperance Hill is my favorite single vineyard Pinot Noir from St. Innocent and among my favorite vineyards within the Willamette Valley. The vineyard's high-altitude (~800 feet), volcanic soil, and regular exposure to cool Pacific breezes impart a purity of fruit and a distinctive herbal component. Dried cherry, rhubarb, and cherry pit flavors merge effortlessly with hints of dried tarragon and charcuterie. A beautifully structured wine that is perfect with pork chops or roast turkey with herb and cranberry stuffing. Jonas Mendoza
St Innocent 2013 Willamette Valley Momtazi Pinot Noir
The grapes from Momtazi come from four blocks at the top of the plot on steep, wind-exposed hillsides. The wines tend to be darker-fruited and more intensely flavored and structured that Temperance Hill or Villages Cuvee. Ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors integrate seamlessly with subtle new oak notes of clove, mace, and cinnamon. Pair with a filet mignon or roast pork. Jonas Mendoza
St Innocent 2014 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard Special Selection
This indomitable wine from one of Oregon's, and America's, greatest vineyards is a formidably complex and deeply structured introspective wine that, while already extraordinary now, is really meant for the cellar. The Shea vineyard is, interestingly, really two vineyard separated by a ravine. This wine comes from fruit from the east field, mostly from Pommard clones. The Shea vineyard experiences high diurnal range, which is its saving grace, because it does get quite hot during the day. This wine, aged in 20% new oak for 16 months before bottling, is firm and tannic, brooding and full of black cherry and dark berry character, with aromas of violets and chocolate shavings. On the palate this wine is robust and undulating with different complex flavor characteristics. The fruit is extraordinarily refined, the tannins superbly fine-grained. I can only imagine what secrets this wine will bring forth in 10-15 years. Andrew Farquhar
St Innocent 2014 Willamette Valley Villages Cuvee Pinot Noir
It's difficult to find a quality Oregon Pinot Noir under $25, let alone one that pairs remarkably with food. St. Innocent blends the fruit from their estate vineyard (Zenith) with that from several other sites within the northern Willamette Valley. Red and black cherry and dried cranberry fruit aromatics and flavors are underlined by blood orange zest, thyme, and meaty undertones. The wine is juicy and fruit-forward, yet maintains brightness and acidity to pair with lighter meat dishes and roasted fall vegetables. Jonas Mendoza
St Innocent 2015 Eola-Amity Willamette Pinot Noir Temperance Hill
This wine comes from the highest altitude site, located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, positioned at 860 feet above sea level, on what is believed to be an extinct volcano. Certified organic, this is a light and tightly structured wine with an aromatic nose of violets and black pepper with a hint of smokiness. On the palate it is structured and earthy, with hints of cranberry and raspberry fruit ensconced in darker tea-like and herbal notes. This wine will develop magnificently for a half decade, and reward cellaring for up to twelve years. Andrew Farquhar
