Wine from the Veronelli collection, and from a distinguished American cellar: Alsace

1988 Tokay Pinot Gris Vendanges Tardive

It's not surprising that Luigi Veronelli had more in his cellar beside just Italian wine (not that there's anything wrong with just Italian wine). Included here are some very rare bottles. Add a remarkable collection of Zind-Humbrecht wines (at remarkably keen prices) and you have something really special.

As I've written before, the Veronelli cellar was humid, and so hard on paper labels. In the case of the wines from the American collection, there was an accident in the cellar, and some labels were stained with wine as a result; we've tried to indicate where it's really noticeable. However, as they say, you don't drink the label. Jamie Wolff
