Cordero di Montezemolo 1959 Barolo Monfalletto
This wine's label has one of the earliest references to it's single-vineyard origins that we can recall seeing on a bottle of Barolo. Roughly translated, the relevant part of the label reads: "from the vines of the property Monfalletto in La Morra". By 1971, the vineyard was receiving top billing on the label. Jamie Wolff
Cordero di Montezemolo 1982 Barolo Monfalletto
Old Cordero Barolo is great wine (recent vintages are in a fairly heavy, oaky style that we don't love so much, but the old stuff...). A couple of years ago we had several cases of this wine, which afforded multiple tasting opportunities; at this price the wine is a steal.
