Everyone here at Chambers Street wishes you a happy holiday and safe travels, accompanied by ample quantities of real rosés!

La Bernarde 2018 Côtes de Provence Rosé "Hauts du Luc"

The 2018 La Bernarde Rosé is a delicious and refreshing blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre, Rolle (Vermentino) and Syrah. Certified organic and fermented with wild yeasts, the grapes are grown in a high-altitude vineyard on limestone with clay and stones. The Cinsault is very present in the pretty aromas of peach and raspberry with citrus and floral hints. The palate is light, with a silky texture and nice mineral flavors underlying the fresh red fruit, peach and citrus flavors. This is a lovely and versatile wine that will be a delicious aperitif or accompaniment to fish, white meats and lighter grilled foods this summer.

Raffault, Olga 2018 Chinon Rosé

The Olga Raffault Chinon rosé has gotten better and better over the past few years, perhaps it's their move towards organic farming and the fine work of Sylvie Raffault and her husband Eric de la Vigerie. 100% Cabernet Franc, 10-hour maceration and slow wild-yeast fermentation. The 2018 is round and ripe and simply delicious, quite crisp and refreshing showing lovely bright pink color, hints of raspberry and strawberry fruit, ripe but dry and balanced on the palate with a bit of peach and red berries in the finish with bright saline acidity. "Particulièrement gouleyant" it says on the label and we couldn't agree more!

Domaine de Reuilly 2018 Reuilly Pinot Gris Rosé

The wines of Denis Jamain at the Domaine de Reuilly are getting better and better - his 2018 Rosé of Pinot Gris is from vines in  organic and biodynamic farning, fermented with wild yeasts. The color is a lovely pale onion skin, the aromas are floral and pretty with gooseberry, peach, dried apricot and citrus peel, really lovely. Light berry, peach, green tea and stone flavors on the palate are dense and creamy but framed in firm acidity. With good ripeness, but subtle and balanced, this unique rosé will accompany a wide variety of foods, from oysters with vinaigrette, fish, grilled pork and chicken and Asian foods, and it's lovely to sip by itself!  David Lillie

Some of the most elegant rosés in the world come from the varied limestone terroirs of Bandol, along the Mediterranean, where Mourvedre is the primary cepage blended with Grenache and Cinsault. Bastide Blanche farms with organic and biodynamic methods and makes a particularly delicious direct-press rosé, fermented with only wild yeasts. A full-bodied wine with complex red fruits, spice and hints of citrus, this is the perfect match for salade niçoise, grilled tuna and grilled meats.

Mas Jullien 2018 Coteaux du Languedoc Rosé

Olivier Jullien is one of the brightest lights in the Languedoc. His farming and cellar work are meticulous and his wines express their terroir beautifully. His 2018 rosé, blend of Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre, combines ripe fruit. wild savory notes with an incisive minerality. Dark pink robe and midweight on the palate with aromas of watermelon, raspberry, spice, and garrigue on the nose. Good density and drive with deep ripe watermelon, red fruits, limestone, salt flavors on the palate. More gourmandaise than glou glou, but compelling and an excellent companion to bitter salad greens with salumi and Parmigiano Reggiano. John McIlwain

Collotte 2018 Marsannay Rosé

This delicious Pinot Noir rosé is made from 30 to 60 year-old vines on classic clay/limestone soils in Marsannay. With a floral and deeply red-fruited nose, the 2018 Domaine Collotte Marsannay rosé is exuberant, verging on effusive. Wild cherry and rose petals give way to a cool citrus peel aromas. Somewhat rich, the racy, medium weight palate shows hints of cherry, herbs, and a hint of mineral funk. It's long and savory with a pleasing hint of cherry pit on the lively finish. This should be wonderful on warm summer evenings with a variety of lighter dishes.

Carlania Celler 2017 Conca de Barbera El Plantarga Rose (Trepat)

The 2017 El Plantarga rosat is all Trepat, a local grape to the Conca de Barbera DO in Spain. Winemakers Jordi Miró and Sònia Gomà-Camps farm without pesticides or herbicides, and only small amounts of sulfur and biodynamic preparations are used in the vineyards. The soils are mostly clay and limestone, which might help to contextualize the lively, flavorful, bright red fruit on the palate that is balanced by a dry, mineral finish. Made without any additives or SO2 added. Did we mention it's $12.99??

Filipa Pato NV Bairrada Brut Rose "3B"

Bairrada, with its cooler maritime climate, has a long history of producing fresh and distinctive sparkling wines of quality from the native grapes of the region. Filipa Pato admirably keeps the tradition alive with her delicious and unpretentious brut rosé made from a blend of Bairrada’s signature noble red variety Baga and the tangy high acid white grape, Bical. Spicy and zesty with notes of bright citrus and red berries, this is a great (and affordable!) pairing for baked fish with paprika and Iberian olive oil or smoked fish brunch.

Ronchi di Cialla 2018 Colli Orientali del Friuli Rosato

The Ronchi di Cialla Rosato is made entirely from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and in the few years that it has been produced has quickly become a feature on our shelves every spring. It is certified organic, fermented on native yeast in steel tanks, and bottled after a few months on the lees. The 2018 has wonderful bright acidity and fine structure, with elegant, husky minerality on the nose and a bit of funk on the palate wrapped in fine, fresh strawberry notes. Perfect as an aperitif or with any manner of Mediterranean feasting options like mezze, cured olives, anchovies, aged sheep's milk cheese, hummus, or the traditional Istrian stew of Trieste, Jota. Cantina La Meridiana 2018 Riviera del Garda Classico Valtenesi Chiaretto Rose

A playful and easy-drinking rose from the area around Lake Garda in Northern Italy, this is a blend of the grapes Groppello, Sangiovese, Marzemino, and Barbera. The attack is quite soft and fruit-forward, showing notes of ripe strawberry, cherry, and berry fruit. With good acidity and a hint of salinity, this is well balanced, and perfect as an aperitif or a companion to a warm night on the patio. Oskar Kostecki

Bonavita 2018 Terre Siciliane Rosato

One of the most eagerly awaited rosato's of the summer, this is a wine to stock up on before it's gone! Winemaker Giovanni Scarfone farms his 2.5 hectares of vines organically with fava beans planted between the rows, green manure, and only low doses of copper and sulphur used when necessary. The rose is a blend of mostly Nerello Mascalese, with small percentages of  Nerello Capuccio, and the little-known indigenous grape Nocera. The 2018 is slightly juicier than the previous few vintages, exhibiting beautiful notes of raspberry, red currant, cranberry, and cherry pit. The initial fruit-forward attack is balanced by lively acidity and wet stone minerality on the palate. In addition, clocking in at only 11.5% abv, it's zippy and refreshing while still being a serious wine. Enjoy with anything from a salad to a pizza, to grilled salmon. Oskar Kostecki

Brand 2018 Pfalz Pet Nat Rosé 1.5 L

Maybe the color on the Brand Pét-Nat Rosé gets more beautiful with every vintage, or maybe I'm just happy to have it back; this year it's a jewel-toned snapdragon electric pink (still Pinot Noir and Portugieser, still no sulfur added). Totally dry, with a prickly, energetic mousse bolstering flavors of red grapefruit, tart crushed cranberries, green olive brine, wild strawberries and red hibiscus. The wine just landed (April 2019), and it's super-fun now, but I don't doubt it will evolve into an even better place in six months or so. Buy some for now and later! Cari Bernard

Division 2018 Columbia Valley L'Avoiron Rosé of Gamay Noir

This rose is from Gamay planted in 2006 in the Yakima Valley in Washington. Planted on basalt bedrock overlaid with the extraordinary Missoula Flood runoff, this rose has a bright red fruit character on the nose that is married to a lush, round, elegant kind of creaminess on the palate. Fantastic and juicy, with a nice seam of mineral density, this rose is less of a fresh aperitif to start the party and more like the main event. This is a perfect rose for grilling, barbecue, salmon, or just plain rooftop quaffing, and has all of the hallmarks of Division's style: clean lines, precision, and purity. 12.8% alcohol by volume. 823 cases produced. Folk Machine 2018 Central Coast Gamay Noir Rose

Natural fermentation from a new Gamay experiment winemaker Kenny Likitprakong is overseeing in the Arroyo Seco AVA, this is a beautiful, elegant, decidedly fresh red-fruited rosé. A very short maceration makes this light in tannin and color. Bottled in green glass, which is made from much higher levels of recycled product and has a considerably smaller carbon footprint. Broc Cellars 2017 Mendocino Valdiguie Rosé

Sourced from dry-farmed Valdiguie vines that are over 90 years-old in the organic certified Rosewood Vineyard in the Redwood Valley of Mendocino. A fine crunchy mousse with great acidity and the character of a handful of wild berries or the underbrush they were gathered from, this is a wonderful, deeply-hued rosé from one of our favorite winemakers. At only 11% this is a fantastic bubbly for the summer, and as Pét-Nats go has enough pop and fizz to be used in a celebratory fashion. Andrew Farquhar

Sulauze 2018 Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Pomponette Rosé

A perennial favorite is back! This is a classic Provençal rosé made from Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle, and Mourvedre. Very pale pink color with aromas of peach, orange blossom, strawberry, and hints of cucumber. The wine is dry and mineral-driven on the palate with delicate peach skin and sweet spice. It’s fresh, delicious, and a fantastic value! (Note: Not much remains of our allocation for this year, don't delay!)

Gilbert, Philippe 2018 Menetou-Salon Rosé

A very soft, pretty and fresh rosé from certified biodynamic producer Philippe Gilbert. Menetou-Salon has the classic clay and limestone soils of the Loire Valley, and produces beautiful Pinots that rival and sometimes surpass those of its neighbor, Sancerre. High-toned minerality combined with the ripe, rosy-red fruit notes of the warm 2018 vintage makes this 100% Pinot Noir rosé a sheer ease and pleasure to drink.

Le Sot de L'Ange 2018 Loire Valley Rose La Boutanche 1 L

Quentin Bourse took over a friend’s estate in Azay-le-Rideau after working with many producers in the Loire Valley (notably Domaine Huet in Vouvray) just in time for the 2013 vintage. The estate was already certified biodynamic and covers 12 hectares on clay over silica. Traditionally this rosé is made from 100% Grolleau, but the 2018 edition has a touch of direct-press Gamay from vines planted in 1964. The addition of Gamay brings sophisticated structure and concentrated tannins to this vintage - making it one of the best we've tasted in years.  The palate has exquisite texture with crisp, mineral acidity and invigorating flavors of tart raspberry, cranberry, and fresh cucumber. It still comes in a crowd-friendly liter format, an ideal go-to for the warm days ahead! Amanda Bowman

Grange Tiphaine 2018 Vin de France Sparkling Rosa, Rose, Rosam

The appearance of this beloved little Pet-Nat means that it is officially summer. "Rosa, Rose, Rosam" is a blend of Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, and Côt from the talented Damien Delecheneau in Touraine. The vines are around 80 years old and were planted in the clay and limestone soils by Damien's great grandfather. The 2018 shows a bit more ripeness than past vintages, but the exquisite lacy minerals and delicately balanced flavors of  wild strawberry, sour cherry, and plump raspberry are as charming as ever. Trinquevedel 2017 Tavel Rosé

2017 is a great vintage for the lovely Trinquevedel Rosé - we love this review from DrinkRhone "bright, appealing red-tinted, lucid robe. The nose is refined, sources redcurrant, a hint of strawberry, with a sherbet, very lighjt candy presence, while a note of lavender adds interest. The palate bears the usual fine-ness of the estate, iron and clear-cut red-fruited content and salted, dentelle-toothsome late moments, some southern weight on the close. It’s all very precise, has good lift, kind detail, is an accurate wine, sophisticated, refreshing, a real wine of terroir with its good reflection of its sandy soils. There is neat depth, grip on the close." This will drink beautifully through 2020.

Manissy 2018 Tavel Cuvee des Lys Rose

Tavel, the warm, Grenache-based rosé famously espoused by AJ Liebling, is perhaps more suited for the table than a light quaff on the patio. A darker pink than your typical salmon-hued wines of Southern France with a palate to match, Tavel, if you'll forgive the idea, is a more "serious" rosé. The organically farmed Manissy 'Cuvée des Lys' is dark-fruited with ripe plum and garrigue on the nose, with the spicy warmth of sun-kissed Grenache on the medium-bodied palate followed by a hint of pleasing tannic bitterness on the finish. Served cool, this savory richness makes it a rosé especially suited for grilled meats, big flavors like tapenade, and sheep's milk cheeses on a late summer night.

Chevrot 2018 Bourgogne Rose 'Sakura'

This Pinot Noir rosé is a blend of the saignée from villages and 1er cru fruit in Maranges, a straight pressing of Hautes Côtes de Beaune fruit, and pellicular maceration of fruit from Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Pale pink, effusive on the nose with aromas of cherry blossom (of course), wild strawberry, cherry, and chalk. Palate is ripe, racy and juicy. Ripe stone fruit and savory herbal notes lend interest. Lip-smacking finish. This is nearly incandescent with bright fruit and crackling energy. A fabulous rosé for an aperitif  or with dinner outdoors on a warm Summer evening. John McIlwain

Bermejos 2017 Lanzarote Listán Negro Rosado

Los Bermejos is a winery established on Lanzarote by Ignacio Valdera. Lanzarote is the easternmost island in the Canaries, and it completely covered by a layer of ash and lava. Here the vines grow struggling against the wind and the almost infertile soil, and are harvested at excruciatingly low yields. The 2017 Los Bermejos Rosado is 100% Listan Negro and shows  notes of raspberries, strawberries and cream, guava, passionfruit, and pink grapefruit, all framed by a salty, volcanic minerality. Very complex on the palate, this rosado has great concentration and intensity, prominent acidity, electric grip, and a long, lingering mineral finish. Oskar Kostecki

Valentina Passalacqua 2017 Rosato Pulia IGP Mezzorosa 1L

Another full-bodied rosato that is at once complex and engaging, and ridiculously easy to drink. Valentina Passalacqua farms her grapes biodynamically in northern Puglia, and uses 100% Montepulciano for the rosato. Without any additions of sulfur during winemaking or at bottling, this is incredibly pure and fruit driven, while still being fresh, mineral, and slightly salty. A medley of wild red berries, cherry, and red plum couples with wet rock minerality and great acidity. At only 10.5% abv, this wine is a summer thirst-quencher, great for pizza or an outdoor barbecue, or just chilling on a rooftop in Brooklyn. Oskar Kostecki

Arnot-Roberts 2018 Clear Lake Rosé

This wine comes from the Luchsinger Vineyard in the Clear Lake AVA in Lake County. Though considerably less well-known, Lake County is the fourth of the counties that make up the North Coast wine country. It is located to the east of Mendocino and Sonoma and directly north of Napa. The main feature of this area is Clear Lake, the largest natural lake wholly located within California, and the oldest freshwater lake in the nation. The lake, at 1,300 feet, is at quite a high altitude, making for cold nights. A blend of 80% Touriga Nacional and 20% Tinta Cão, a less famous grape from the Douro. Whole-cluster, foot-trod, and kept on the skins for 24 hours, this is a beautiful, bright, classic rosé with finely-grained tannins and a nice spicy bite disguising a nice earthy chassis beneath.
