We're happy to offer a variety of excellent recently published wine books, featuring the just released "Domaine aux Moines: A Year in the Heart of the Loire Valley Vineyards" with text by Pascaline Lepeltier. "A story of fine wine - The Domaine aux Moines is in the Anjou area of the Loire Valley. In the period from the Middle Ages through to the Revolution, it belonged to the monks of Béhuard and then to the those of the Abbaye Saint-Nicolas of Angers. Since 1981, the mother and daughter team of Monique and Tessa Laroche has been producing elegant wines from this exceptional terroir. These have gained recognition worldwide: the Domaine aux Moines, AOC Savennières Roche aux Moines, the AOC Anjou Villages, and the latest addition to the family, Le Berceau des Fées.
In this book, you will learn about the annual work of the Domaine with Tessa Laroche and her team; from the time when the grapes are picked to the moment when the wine is bottled, from pruning to debudding and tying up the vines through photographs by Hélène de Fontainieu and the expert writing of Pascaline Lepeltier, It will also give pride of place to Chenin, a type of wine that expresses its true splendor here in this terroir of volcanic rock and gritty schist." (In French and English) Please join us on Wenesday, March 14th as Tessa Laroche comes to Chambers Street Wines for a book signing and tasting, followed by a dinner and tasting at Racines, with author/sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier in attendance. (Dinner tickets available Feb.15th)
